Hello All!
I just came across this amazing project.
I successfully managed to install and play Heroes 3 on two android phones.
When I tried on macbook air 2012 model/with latest osx (Catalina, I think) , VCMI started, then when I chose single game, it stayed on “connecting” screen (127.0.0.1/3030 - default settings).
Any suggestions how to solve this issue, would be much appreciated.
VCMI launcher is the latest available as of 13 Jan 21.

Some ‘lucky guess’ advices:

  1. Delete buggy WoG mod from Mods folder.
  2. Rename all .mp3 extensions in Mp3 folder into .ogg extension
    and try again

I have another idea. Found following in your logs:
“Port 3030 is busy, trying to use random port instead”
It means that some other application is using this port. you can change port in game launcher settings. You might try some bigger number like 51239, to reduce chance some other application took it.

I changed default port 3030 to 50246. The same result - stays on connecting screen:

Changed .mp3 to .ogg - stil not working.
In the log file - I see that newly selected port 50246 is shown as busy, :frowning:

I just ran into the same symptoms, connecting window did not disappear with port 3030, after VCMI crashed on me. I noticed that the VCMI server process (“VCMI_server.exe”) was still running. Terminating the process through the task manager solved the issue for me.

I realize this is likely not the same issue that se4to is reporting, but maybe it helps someone else who looks into this forum (like I did).

What wxd said is 100% the correct answer. Seems so basic and silly but it worked. Open task manager and close anything similar VCMI_server.exe and then try again

I think it should work. Better ask in slack. Probably you have some firewall or whatever blocks connection. I know that there were some changes recently and even some work to port VCMI to iOS

@Nullkiller, you might be right that the error could be related to Mac OS localhost connection issue.
Unfortunately, I do not have knowledge on Mac OS to check it.

Works from web browser or you can install it on Android or Windows. Kind of corporate messenger.
