Firstly, I would like to send my gratitude to all people of the community to create one of the best source port for H3.
Thanks to the super portable codebase, the port could be easily compiled for not-so-common architecture, for example the Linux PowerPC64 Little Endian. The last well known PowerPC desktop is the Apple PowerMac G5 (which runs the IBM POWER5 CPU). Since then there are workstations that run IBM POWER CPU for example Raptor Computing System Talos II or Blackbird (that runs IBM POWER9 CPU). These machines are not cheap however still quite popular amongst the ‘enterprise’ and academic sector and god forbids them from playing games!
I’d like to share with you some screenshots of VCMI running on Fedora 38 ppc64le.
I hope one day POWER-based computers would get more affordable to attract more users. For now, I will try my best to port / maintain more games for this architecture because computing is supposed to be FUN
