I’m playing it now and was pleasantly surprised at how movement outside of the view of the player was implemented: it has no animation or animation delay.
If the moving unit would eventually appear in the view, it has no delay for the hexes until the unit enters the view.
Even now, you could play it. I think that WoG has them implemented. They don’t have the talking parts of campaign level intros and the first intro, but that’s the only thing that’s missing, which will probably be implemented in VCMI.
