Hello. I downloaded the VCMI 1.7.4 app from the Google Play Store, but I’m experiencing crashes immediately upon launch. Could you please help me understand why the app won’t start? My phone is running Android 16.
Did you import original H3 files? Vcmi doesn’t work without them…
crash at which point exactly? When you simply open the app? Or when you press Play in the Launcher?
The app crashes immediately upon launch, kicking me right back to the Android home screen.
is it your first VCMI install? Are you able to pull the crash log? You’d need “adb logcat” - android app or from computer.
@Ivan do you see any similar crashes in the console perhaps?
Access to a PC is difficult, so it’s easier to assume I don’t have one. This is the first time I’m installing the app on a smartphone.
Still - the most important question is: Did you import original H3 files? VCMI doesn’t work without them…
The most important answer was “no.” After all, the app won’t even launch, which means I can’t do any of the in-app setups to install the files.
well, we need to see the crash log that you have. Without that it’s difficult to help you. Like I said, there’re android apps that are able to pull logcat.
you may also try installing VCMI from F-Droid.
I I’m not sure which apps can record logs. I tried downloading Termux, but it generated an empty file. Here is a link to a screen recording showing how I try to capture the log and launch the app. Hope this helps!"
log vcmi
no idea, sorry, I always use computer to pull logs from android devices. Please search the internet / ask LLM.
